Day 2 of the 2017 World Championship Group Stage was more than a little tense for North American fans.
While Cloud9 may have had an impressive victory against ahq e-Sports for their first win of the tournament, things weren’t quite so easy for the region’s other teams.
Immortals played Fnatic to a standstill that dragged out to the 50 minute mark in a game that came down to one crucial mistake.
But the real standout of the day for North America was number one seed, Team SoloMid’s 54 straight minutes of chaos in their match against the LMS’s Flash Wolves. While the game seemed all but secured for Flash Wolves up until about 35 minutes, everything that came after made it seem like it could go either way.
Without spoiling the incredible and unexpected end of the game, Team SoloMid manage a fantastic comeback through some impressive map movement, and great Baron control. But the real star of the game was top laner Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell who pulls off the best Gnar ult in Worlds history.
