Update: The prize pool has gone up again! Fans have now added a total of $2.35 million, officially doubling the base prize pool.

The headline has been altered to reflect these changes. You can still read the original article below.

According to this article posted on LoL Esports, the fan contribution to the Worlds prize pool has raised about $1.85 million, putting the total pool at $4,072,101.

Championship Ashe and the matching ward skin have had 25 percent of the proceeds go towards the prize pool, with another 25 percent going to a fan-voted charity.

The amount of money each team will win is broken down as follows:

  • 1st place: 37.5%
  • 2nd place: 13.5%
  • 3rd/4th place: 7% (14% total)
  • 5th-8th place: 4% (16% total)
  • 9th-12th place: 2.25% (9% total)
  • 13th-16th place: 1.25% (5% total)
  • 17th-20th place: 0.75% (3% total)
  • 21st-24th place: 0.5% (2% total)

Last year, the prize pool was $6.7 million, with more than half of it coming from Championship Zed proceeds.

We can’t predict for sure if this year’s prize pool will surpass last year’s, but you can still contribute by grabbing Championship Ashe and the ward skin until November 5.
