EDG top laner Mouse leaves Worlds for family emergency

He will be replaced by Koro1.

Riot Games

EDward Gaming’s top laner, Yu-hao “Mouse” Chen, has returned to China to mourn the loss of a family member. Riot has posted an official ruling stating that he has been substituted out for Yang “Koro1” Tong.

The details about Mouse’s family have not been posted out of privacy for them.

Koro1 has played with EDG in the 2016 spring split, but was benched for Mouse before the summer split started. He prominently played Poppy, Nautilus and Trundle, so he shouldn’t have too hard of a time adjusting to the current meta.

This is the second time Koro1 has been subbed in before quarterfinals, so he can probably handle the pressure and swaps. The first time this happened was 2015 Worlds, when he subbed in for AmazingJ.

Hopefully the sad news and sudden change won’t rock the boat for EDG too much. The team will be playing against the ROX Tigers on Saturday for their quarterfinal match.
