After a thread on the League of Legends subreddit noted the new 2016 SKT Championship skins shouldn’t be 1350 RP by Riot’s own published skin pricing standards, the company gave a response.
The skins are staying at their 1350 RP price, but there will be special sound effects added to them in the future to live up to the standards (which are now also being changed).
The Reddit thread references an older post on the Riot Games support website that states that a 1350 RP skin should have [a] “new model, new texture, new splash image, new animations, new visual effects, new sounds.”
The redditor pointed out that the new skins didn’t have a special set of sounds and that Riot technically wasn’t holding up their end of the bargain, by the company’s own guidelines.
Rioter SuperCakes came forward and cleared the air.
We’re still planning to release these skins at 1350RP in Patch 7.13, but we will release an update to them soon after that adds in sounds and checks those boxes. Honestly speaking, we’re not sure if the skins are necessarily better for it. That’s why they weren’t part of their original design. But we also don’t feel that we’re holding up our end of the bargain otherwise.
