Teamfight Tactics patch 9.14 change list

The first major TFT patch is here

Riot Games

It’s the first official patch for Teamfight Tactics. Riot is adding quite a bit to the mode, including a new character, the ranked mode, a revamp to the item system, an attack speed rework, a DPS meter, and individual balance changes.

The studio also announced that it’ll patch TFT every week instead of every two. One of the weekly patches will focus on new content and features while the other will focus on balance changes.

At the top of the notes, Riot gave some context on why they’re changing what they’re changing in this patch. The focus is on under powered three-cost champions. The studio buffed some of these characters to make sure they’re viable. Four-cost champions are seeing nerfs, as they were a bit too strong regardless of synergies. (Lookin’ at you, Draven.)

Riot Games

Twisted Fate

  • Cost: 2g
  • Traits: Pirate, Sorcerer
  • Ability: Pick a Card—Twisted Fate throws a card that randomly stuns (Gold), deals damage around his target (Red), or restores mana to himself and nearby allies (Blue)

Ranked mode

  • Teamfight Tactics ranked Beta Season starts in patch 9.14.

Attack Speed

  • We’ve changed all champions’ attack speed ratios so that attack speed bonuses are now calculated based on a percent of the champion’s base attack speed. In short, champions with lower base attack speeds will receive less benefit from attack speed items. Certain champions and attack speed granting items have been adjusted in this patch to compensate.

PvE Rounds

  • In the event that you do not get an item during a PvE round, one of the minions, monsters, or epic monsters will now drop gold instead.
  • Dragon and Elder Dragon no longer benefit from the Dragon Trait bonuses. All sorcery comps rejoice.

Ranked Premade Restrictions

  • The ranked premade party size is now limited to three players at all ranks. Down from five below plat.

Level Breakpoints

  • XP needed for level 9 is now 64, down from 70.

Ability Targeting

  • Abilities that target low health champions now determine “lowest health” by HP percentage instead of total HP.


  • When you reroll your shop after leveling up from round XP, the shop is rolled at your new level instead of your old level.

User Interface

  • Added “Streak” indicator next to gold total. It displays your current streak (win or loss) and the rewards for maintaining streaks of different lengths.
  • Added a combat recap so you can see how much damage each champion deals each round.
  • Added champion stats (attack damage, armor, magic resist etc) on their pop up inspect panel when you right click.

  • Mana burn chance is now 25/50/85% down from 40/60/80%


  • Golem health now 2,500, down from 3,000
  • Golem attack down now 100, down from 200


  • Armor buff now stacks infinitely, up from two


  • Gunslinger’s AoE trait visualization is more clear
  • Fixed bug that occasionally causes Gunslinger extra attacks to not work
  • At four Gunslingers, extra attacks hit two targets, down from all in range


  • Average gold per chest now 1.6, down from 2


  • Fixed bug that causes Shapeshifters to gain less health than intended
  • Transform bonus health now 60% down from 100%


  • Bonus attacks speed now 8%, up from 7%

Tier 1 Champions

Riot Games


  • No longer casts his ability at times when no enemies would be in range at start of cast


  • Now a Tier 1 Champion
  • Mana cost now 100, up from 70
  • Spiderlings can proc Demon Origin
  • Spiderlings summoned now 1/2/4, down from 2/3/4
  • Health now 450, down from 500
  • Armor now 20, down from 25


  • Attack speed now 1, up from 0.7
  • Damage now 100-400, up from 100-250


  • Health now 450, down from 500


  • Attack speed now 0.65, up from 0.6


  • Abilities now apply on-hit effects

Tier 2 Champions

Riot Games


  • Fixed a bug where Ahri’s ability wouldn’t deal damage while she was dead
  • Now retargets her ability if the target dies during the cast time
  • Ahri now casts her ability at her attack target, not a random unit


  • Fixed a bug where Blitz could hook a unit off the board if he died while casting
  • Nearby allies are now more likely to target the unit Blitzcrank pulls


  • Fixed Braum’s tooltip to properly reflect that his shield reduces a percentage of all incoming damage
  • Damage reduction no 70-90%, up from 60-90%
  • Mana cost now 50, down from 75
  • Braum now casts his wall toward the furthest enemy, not his current target


  • Ability’s second shot now deals 150/250/350, up from 65/150/235


  • Mana cost now 125, up from 100
  • Starting mana is now 75, up from 50


  • Burrow duration now 1, down from 1.5
  • Knockup duration now 1.75, up from 1.25
  • Damage now 150-350, up from 150-250


  • Starting mana now 100, up from 50

Tier 3 Champions

Riot Games


  • Mana cost now 75, down from 100
  • Damage now 400-1000, up from 350-850


  • Health now 600, up from 550
  • Execute threshold now 65% health, up from 50% health
  • Execute multiplier now 300/500/700% up from 300/400/500%
  • Eve’s ability now roots targets during the cast time (0.35s) to prevent them from moving out of the area of effect


  • Abilities now apply on-hit effects
  • Fixed barrel animation bugs
  • Attack speed now 0.65, up from 0.6
  • Health now 700, up from 650


  • Fixed a bug where her ability wasn’t properly preventing enemy healing


  • Damage now 400-900, up from 300-660
  • Attack damage now 70 up from 60


  • No longer casts her ability at times when no enemies would be in range at start of cast
  • Damage now 300-450, up from 250-450


  • Armor now 40, up from 30
  • Stun duration now 2/34, up from 1.5/2.5/3.5
  • Number of targets hit now 1/2/3, up from 1


  • Savagery’s attack speed buff is now multiplicative (it increases Rengar’s attack speed ratio)


  • Attack speed now 0.7, up from 0.65
  • Health now 650, up from 550
  • Bonus attack damage while in dragon form now 100-200, up from 60-160


  • Damage to lower star champions now 19,999, up from 9999
  • Mana cost now 75, down from 85

  • Lightning attack damage ration now 80-100%, up from 60-100%

Tier 4 Champions

Gladiator Draven Riot Games


  • Fixed a number of bugs that would sometimes cause her ability to not deal damage
  • No longer casts her ability at times when no enemies would be in range at start of cast


  • Mana cost now 125, up from 100


  • Health now 1,000, down from 1,100
  • Knockup duration now 1.5/2/2.5, down from 2/2.25/2.5


  • Attack speed now 0.75, down from 0.85


  • Health now 750, down from 850
  • Armor now 30, down from 35


  • Mana cost now 100, down from 150


  • Stun duration now 2/3.5/5, down from 3/4/5

Tier 5 Champions

Riot Games


  • Ability no longer cancels when Anivia dies

Miss Fortune

  • Now casts her ability at her current attack target, not a random enemy
  • Now retargets her ability if the target dies during the windup
  • Fixed a bug where Miss Fortune would sometimes move and change her ult’s trajectory while channeling
  • Mana cost now 100, up from 75


  • Ability now applies on-hit effects
  • Knockup duration now 1.5, up from 1.25
  • Damage now 150/350/550, up from 150/250/350


Riot Games


  • Items no longer benefit from Ability Power
  • Spatula now doubles the stat power of its sister component. For example: Youmuu’s Ghostblade grants 40 Attack Damage
  • Every NPC Round now drops a reward. Rewards that can be dropped include item components and gold

Cursed Blade

  • Can now reduce targets to 0 stars
  • Fixed a bug where Cursed Blade would reset an enemy champion’s level if it triggered a second time

Frozen Heart

  • Effect now applies more consistently to any unit near the wearer

Guardian Angel

  • Revive delay now 2 seconds, down from 4
  • Health restored now 1,000, up from 500
  • Bugfix: Guardian Angel now properly clears Grievous Wounds

Guinsoo’s Rageblade

  • Attack speed per stack now 4% up from 3%

Hextech Gunblade

  • Fixed a bug where spell vamp was sometimes not properly granted
  • No longer benefits from item effects (looking at you Shyvanna with Thornmail)

Ionic Spark

  • Now deals true damage instead of magic damage
  • Fixed a bug where Ionic Spark was applying 75 damage instead of 200

Locket of the Iron Solari

  • Now shields the wearer and the champions two spaces to the left and right of the wearer at the start of the round
  • Shield value now 300, up from 200

Luden’s Echo

  • Fixed a bug where targets weren’t taking the correct amount of damage
  • Fixed a bug where Luden’s would proc on basic attack hits but not on ability hits
  • Primary target damage now 200, up from 100
  • AoE damage now 200, up from 0 + 1.0 AP


  • Max HP damage per second now 3%, up from 2.5%

Rapidfire Cannon

  • Updates when Champion range changes (RIP RFC Nidalee)

Recurve bow

  • Attack speed now 20%, up from 15%


  • Now triggers at 25% health
  • No longer damages enemies

Runaan’s Hurricane

  • Now fires 1 bolt, down from 2
  • Bolt damage now deals 25% damage, down from 50%
  • Now applies on-hit effects

Seraph’s Embrace

  • Fixed a bug where Seraph’s effect wouldn’t stack

Statikk Shiv

  • Now always hits 3 additional targets, rather than all champions in a frontal cone
  • Now only activates a maximum of one time per launch attack


  • Reflects 100% physical damage mitigated, up from 35% damage taken
  • Damage type is now true damage, not magic damage


  • Now regenerates 6% missing health, up from 3% max health

Zeke’s Herald

  • Now only grants attack speed to champions two spaces to the left and right of the wearer
  • Attack speed aura now 15%, up from 10%

Bug fixes

  • Updated missile VFX on Enchanted Crystal Arrow
  • Enchanted Crystal Arrow now plays sounds
  • Fixed a bug where champions leveling upon combining from a shared draft selection sometimes duplicated the champion
  • Reconnecting to a TFT game will no longer prevent end of game stats from being displayed
  • Fixed a number of bugs that would cause melee champions to AFK and stop moving
  • A billion other bugfixes listed in the sections above
