This patch is not a big one when it comes to balance changes. It’s actually much smaller than what we’ve seen in the past, but that doesn’t mean that this patch doesn’t have important changes.
For one, Akali’s rework is going to debut this patch. She’s a mean, green ninja machine and she is probably going to be extremely unfun to lane against. Regardless, she’s here and she at least looks really cool.
The new Pool Party skins are also being added this patch for Zoe, Gangplank and Caitlyn. Along with those skins, there will be a Pool Party missions event for players to grab some free loot while they play.
As for balance in this patch, we’re seeing more tweaks towards marksman items to get them back in the game. (I mean, how can you release a Caitlyn skin if she plays like garbage?) There’s also more changes towards Irelia, who has remained too strong or too weak since release.

Our goal of giving marksmen a later spike was hit a little bit too hard, and it’s left marksmen feeling underwhelming in the mid-game (and thus often unable to reach their late-game power). We’re decreasing the cost of some marksman items so they spike earlier, but cutting some of their late-game power so they don’t take over the game when they get there.
