For the first time since season 4, the Doom Bots of Doom have returned with a new twist, just in time for Harrowing.
Some of us remember Doom Bots as horrible inventions by Riot to torture us. Back in season 4, you picked a difficulty and you’d face off to capture the base of the enemy bot team. Sounds easy enough, but the bots are actually super charged with insane abilities.
Annie would summon her lovable bear, Tibbers, but he was the size of half of your screen. Lux would fire her Final Spark in a full 360 degrees. Garen and Fiddlesticks would randomly pop out of bushes and then disappear if you got too close. The bots were smart enough to rotate for Dragon. Those were nightmarish times.
Riot’s new version of Doom Bots sounds a bit easier to win, maybe. Instead of pushing into the enemy base, the map is sliced in half and you spend 15 minutes trying to defend against the baddies. After the 15 minutes passes, you fight the big boss, who we’re presuming to be some kind of super-Teemo in his Little Demon skin. If you can beat him, you win!
The bot roster has increased a bit since the last time Doom Bots were around, too. You can expect to see the following:
- Amumu
- Annie
- Blitzcrank
- Brand
- Chogath
- Ezreal
- Fiddlesticks
- Galio
- Heimerdinger
- Leona
- Lulu
- Lux
- Malzahar
- Morgana
- Tristana
- Udyr
- Veigar
- Wukong
- Yasuo
- Yorick
- Ziggs
There will also be buffs that the bots have that rotate every couple of minutes, but we’re not too sure about what they do.
You will be able to set the difficulty on any level from 1 - 100, via using chat commands. The higher the difficulty, the harder the bots.
Doom Bots of Doom are on the PBE now for testing and should come out for patch 6.21 in two weeks!
