The inspiration Keystone tree offers some odd choices to say the least. For the first Keystone here, Unsealed Spellbook, we are looking at champions that require a certain kind of Summoner Spell in the early game that could maybe use a different one later in the game.
What does it do?
Starting at two minutes, Unsealed Spellbook wielders will have Summoner Shards added into their inventory. This process will occur every six minutes after the initial two, but players can only hold a maximum of two shards at once. While in fountain, players can exchange Summoner Shards to replace one of their currently equipped Summoner Spells. Summoner Spells also cooldown 25 percent faster. You cannot hold more than one of the same Summoner Spell and purchasing Smite after the game starts will not grant you access to Smite items.
Which runes go well with it?
Unsealed Spellbook is all about being able to surprise your enemy and use your Summoner Spells even more often than normal. As a result, we are going to build this particular path with a focus on cheese and speed.
You should probably have flash most of the time when using Unsealed Spellbook. However, if you switch over to Ghost and then back to Flash, Hextech Flashtraption should allow you to have a mini-flash every 20 seconds. If you need some extra mobility, this should hep you quite a bit.
Future’s Market is for the folks who love to hit hard with a surprise cheese. Imagine if you were able to, as Zed, back at two minutes, switch to Ignite and buy an extra longsword by putting yourself in debt. With early game champions like that, you can easily overpower your opponents.
Cosmic Insight should just help us cooldown our Summoner Spells and other abilities even faster.
Suggesting a paired tree for Unsealed Spellbook is very difficult. More often than not, players will have to just decide what they like more and go for it. However, for most Unsealed Spellbook champions, Precision’s Triumph and Coup De Grace should always have value.
Who’s it for?

Unsealed Spellbook is going to be a great rune for a wide variety of champions, but also is best taken for specific play styles rather than champions. That being said, there are still plenty of champs that need a variety of Summoner Spells.
You want to take this rune on champions like:
- Hecarim
- Singed
- Zed
- Cassiopeia
- Ryze
- Sion
Hecarim and Singed are going to be champions that take Ghost and Flash at the beginning and later swap out with Smite or Teleport later. Sion similarly could start with an ignite and then jump over to Teleport. Grab this rune for champions that could use many different Summoner Spells and adapt based on how they’re performing.
