Keystone Rune guide: How to use Dark Harvest

Dark Harvest is going to be an excellent rune choice for junglers who clear fast. Since it adds bonus damage to your next attack based on your last killed creature, weaving ganks in between your clears will be beneficial. Dark Harvest could also be pretty useful on split push champions as well. Either way, if you’re able to kill minions or monsters and quickly enter combat, this rune will benefit you.

What does it do?

When you kill a minion, monster or champion, you absorb its soul. The next attack you make on an enemy champion or structure (within 20 seconds) will deal bonus damage. Monster souls add small damage, large minion souls add medium damage and champion souls add large damage.

Which runes go well with it?

For Dark Harvest, we want to try and grab runes that compliment mobility and killing.

Sudden Impact is a pretty clear choice here. If we want to take this on mobile junglers, a dash into a gank is fairly common. Ideally, the Sudden Impact effect will line up perfectly with the Dark Harvest effect, granting one massive hit.

Eyeball Collection is simply the best choice in this tree. If you’re farming kills, Eyeball collection will easily add to your power by the game’s end.

Relentless Hunter goes nicely with Sudden Impact and Dark Harvest. The name of the game is speed. Once you clear a camp or kill an enemy champion you only have 20 seconds. If you’re able to run quickly to the next target, you can get an even greater benefit from Dark Harvest.

Precision will be our secondary tree. Here we want to take Legend: Alacrity to speed up our clear speed and Coup De Grace to take down enemies even faster after the Dark Harvest hit.

Dark Harvest is for our speedy farmers and quick gankers.

You want to take this rune on champions like:

• Rengar
• Rek’Sai
• Jarvan IV

Rengar feels like the best champion for this rune. Kill the scuttle crab and then stealth your way into the mid lane for a quick kill. Rek’Sai and Jarvan IV are also great picks here. The faster you can kill your camps and move around the map, the more useful this keystone will be.
