Keystone Rune guide: How to use Fleet Footwork

What’s it do, what runes should you pair with it and who should wield it?

Fleet Footwork is a fine rune that will be very useful on a few key split-push style champions. This rune has a lot of potential to be both deeply obnoxious and very useful. If you love being a bad person playing Tryndamere, this is probably a good rune for you.

What does it do?

Whenever you move or attack you gain energy. Once you’ve reached 100 energy, your next attack will spend it all. Energy fueled attacks heal you and increase your movement speed for a short time.

Which runes go well with it?

Fleet Footwork is a split-push ass rune for split-pushing. So, we’re going to build out our rune page to be ideal for split-pushing: lots of duelist and healing runes.

Overheal is the first rune we’re taking. Since we’re taking so much lifesteal, we don’t want to waste anything. If you’re a Tryndamere eager to duel folks, you can get an overshield from your first encounter and have an extra shield once the entire team comes to kick your ass.

Legend: Bloodline will give you a ton of extra healing. If you’re split-pushing, you’ll get a lot of CS, which means you’ll get a lot of Bloodline stacks. This one should be pretty self-explanatory.

Last Stand will live up to it’s name. The goal here it to make duels easier. If the enemy sends another duelist your way, Last Stand combined with your other healing will make you a real pain to deal with. The closer they get to finally killing you, the more damage you’ll deal.

For the secondary tree, we’ll be going with Dominion. For the runes, grab Taste of Blood for the extra lifesteal and Relentless Hunter for the extra movement speed when split-pushing.

Who’s it for?

Riot Games

As we’ve said a few times before, this is a great Keystone rune for split-pushing. As such, we’re gonna be using this rune on champions that are good at that kind of thing.

You want to take this rune on champions like:

  • Tryndamere
  • Jax
  • Fiora

Tryndamere is obviously the split-push champion. The ability to heal even more and gain a burst of movement speed will make your life even easier. Jax and Fiora all have similar goals and uses for this rune.

Split-pushing is a pretty simple thing. Go take this rune and ruin a bunch of people’s games.
