We already know that midseason is coming in Patch 8.9, but we still don’t know much about what it’ll actually have in it. Thankfully, Andrei “Meddler” van Roon has popped onto his Quick Gameplay Thoughts podium to give us a lowdown on some upcoming changes.
First in mideseason, we’ll be getting what sounds like a sizable overhaul to the jungle. Meddler didn’t really go into detail here, but he did say that they have big changes planned that could effect junglers on a more systematic level. This sounds ominous, but we’ll unfortunately have to wait a few more weeks before the real details start pouring in.
Next, Meddler mentioned that a few pre-midseason changes should start popping up in Patch 8.8 to help usher in some of the actual midseason changes. Specifically, Meddler mentioned mana pools and regen for early game mages. Mages aren’t able to cast as many spells in the early game as the team would like, so they’re setting things up to be a little more generous. However, this will come with a nerf to Doran’s Ring.
The rest of midseason still remains a mystery. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long to learn even more about it.
