On Patch 7.5, we got a few significant changes to some of the bottom lane’s most dominant champions. Among those changes were Miss Fortune and Varus.
For Varus, the changes made little difference in his pro play popularity and but decimated his solo queue win rate — dropping from just above 51 percent to just below 45 percent. Miss Fortune, on the other hand, saw a significant drop in professional matches (where she was mostly played as a support, anyway), and saw her solo queue win rate dip from above 53 percent to below 50.
In response, Riot is making a few changes for both champions in Patch 7.6:
Miss Fortune
Q - Double Up
DAMAGE :: 20/35/50/65/80 >>> 20/40/60/80/100
RATIO :: 0.85 total attack damage >>> 1.0 total attack damage
NOW WE’RE PLAYING WITH POWER :: Cast range now adjusts based on Miss Fortune’s attack range (ex. Rapidfire Cannon)
HAIR TRIGGER :: Miss Fortune no longer briefly pauses after casting Double Up
E - Make it Rain
HAIR TRIGGER :: Miss Fortune no longer briefly pauses after casting Make it Rain
Miss Fortune is getting a significant buff in Patch 7.6 which should give her a little more viability in lane, as well as even greater potential for long-range burst in the mid and late games.
Varus
Q - Piercing Arrow
COOLDOWN REFUND ON BLIGHT PROC :: 4 seconds, scaling down with cooldown reduction >>> 4 seconds
These changes to Varus aren’t likely to make a huge difference, but to be clear, it is a buff. Last patch, the cooldown refund on Varus’s had negative synergy with the CD statR. Now you can build CDR and not have to worry about that.
In a further effort to change the bot lane meta, Riot is also continuing their work on the traditional AD Carry masteries. Last patch, Riot reworked Warlord’s Bloodlust to give it a new, slightly more active, component to its lifesteal. Now they are giving that component a buff that is going to be huge for AD Carries that rely heavily on critical strikes.
Warlord’s Bloodlust
SUSTAIN BONUS :: Grants 1-50% lifesteal (at levels 1-18) >>> Restores health equal to 3-40% total attack damage (at levels 1-18)
CRITICAL HEAL :: If the attack that procs Warlord’s Bloodlust critically strikes, the heal crits as well (further increased by crit damage modifiers, ex. Infinity Edge)
