Riot has announced via the forums that health bars will get a new look come preseason! The bars will, visually, be extremely close to what we have now, so there shouldn’t be too much of a problem with the transition.
The health bars will have new animations for burst damage and healing, as well as different indicators for being unkillable, which we don’t have on live currently. (Unkillable refers to ultimates like Kindred’s and Tryndamere’s and is not to be confused with invulnerable, like Kayle’s or Taric’s ultimate.)
Before we post the images from the thread, it’s important to note that this is all subject to change. If something doesn’t read well, make sure to send Riot your feedback so it can be changed!

The changes aren’t too different from what we have now, but it does unify the aesthetic that the current user interface has, as well as with the colors on Summoner’s Rift.
Small updates like this certainly feel fresh and are exciting. Bursting champions looks like it’ll feel more rewarding with the shaking health bars and there’s something epic about the turret health bars exploding.
These changes should be making their way on to the Public Beta Environment soon and they’re scheduled to hit live during preseason.
