How to watch the 2019 World Championship Group Stage: schedule and streams

The League of Legends Group Stage is officially here and the best teams in the world are set to face off. This year’s groups have some exciting match ups, and may be some of the most competitive we’ve ever seen at World Championship. After last year’s shocking Europe versus China finals, this year could be even more unpredictable.

Group A has G2 Esports, who might be the favorite to win the whole tournament, and Korean powerhouse Griffin. Griffin’s never competed on the Worlds stage before while G2 will look to make up for a few disappointing trips in the past. The group also has perennial NA contender Cloud9 and Hong Kong Attitude who fought through the play-in stage to reach this point.

Group C is the “Huni’s Revenge” group. The Clutch Gaming top laner will face off against T1 and Fnatic, two of his former teams. Aside from Huni’s personal story, this group is also one of the best and most interesting in the tournament. It’s filled with teams that have sky high potential, but have all disappointed a time or two so far this season. Group C could be this year’s everyone-can-beat-everyone group that ends with a four-way tiebreaker.

Group D might be the least predictable thing about Worlds 2019 and anyone who says they know what’s going on is a liar. With the probable exception of ahq (sorry ahq), every team on this list has the chance to be anywhere from great to terrible. Last year’s World Champions, Invictus Gaming have struggled for second half of 2019, barely scraping its way through the regional qualifiers. Meanwhile, Team Liquid is one of the best teams North America has ever produced, but NA has never really performed at Worlds. Damwon Gaming are a Korean team that could never really find consistency during the Summer Split but at times looked like it could beat any team in the LCK. All these questions should make Group D especially fun to watch.
