Rift Rivals 2017: GPL/LJL/OPL schedule, streams and results

Rift Rivals has started for some of the regions on the other side of the world. Japan (LJL), Southeast Asia (GPL) and Oceania (OPL) started their matches on Monday.

Representing Japan is DetonatioN FocusMe, Rampage and Unsold Stuff Gaming. From Southeast Asia is GIGABYTE Marines, Ascension Gaming and Mineski. Oceania has Dire Wolves, Legacy eSports and Sin Gaming.

The teams that would be familiar to the folks who don’t watch these regions regularly would be GIGABYTE Marines, Rampage and Dire Wolves. These three teams duked it out in the play-in bracket for the 2017 Mid-Season Invitational, with GIGABYTE Marines coming out on top.

Japan takes the tourney with an easy 3 - 1 over Southeast Asia. (Unfortunately, Oceania was knocked out in the semifinals by Southeast Asia.) LJL’s win is definitely considered an upset against GPL, but we’re excited to see what the future holds for LJL after this!
