Worlds 2018: A Lightning Round with kt’s Smeb

LCK’s first seed team, kt Rolster, came out of Group C with a near-perfect 5-1 record at the 2018 World Championship Group Stages. We were blessed with the opportunity to see what’s going on in top laner Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho’s head in a quick Lightning Round.

Our Lightning Round questions all come from various sources: fans, other media, players and more. Some of them are League related, but a bulk of them aren’t. We’re trying to get the players to answer questions you wouldn’t hear about otherwise, providing you, the fan, with bizarre fun facts and trivia regarding your favorite players.

Smeb: Coke.

What’s the skin you hate the absolute most?

Smeb: Shamrock Malphite.

If you could live in one video game universe, what would you pick?

Smeb: Winning Eleven.

What is one food you would never eat?

Smeb: Yubuchobap (fried tofu skin with rice and other goodies stuffed inside).

Is there any player from another region you would like to befriend? (From Gen.G’s CoreJJ.)

Smeb: Doublelift.

What’s your favorite skin?

Smeb: Gravelord Azir.

(Ed. note: Smeb was trying to explain which Azir skin to the translator and I and used the English word “goalkeeper,” leading us to believe it was a non-existent World Cup skin. However, I believe he was trying to say “gravekeeper” in English, which matches with Gravelord Azir.)

If you had to play another game competitively, which would you pick?

Smeb: FIFA.

Who’s the messiest person on your team?

Smeb: I think it’s me! [laughs]

Smeb: I want to travel.

DC or Marvel?

Smeb: Marvel.

Smeb: Yes, I do! [laughs]

Smeb: About MAD Team.

Smeb: Yes. [laughs]

Smeb: I’d be having fun.

The Rift Herald: Are you not having fun now?

Smeb: No. [laughs]

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Smeb: Instant travel.

Smeb: I think I’ll know once I win.
