Worlds 2018: A Lightning Round with Afreeca’s Kuro

Don’t we all want to be friends with Uzi?

Julia Lee/Polygon

LCK’s Afreeca Freecs took their first win in day four of the 2018 World Championship Group against the VCS’ Phong Vũ Buffalo. Mid laner Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng joined us for a Rift Herald Lightning Round to celebrate his victory.

For those who haven’t tuned in to our many other interviews, our Lightning Round is composed of questions from players we’ve talked to in the past rounds, Vox Media employees and myself. Since starting, I’ve punted out a handful of the questions that the players’ hands would magnetize towards in the jar. I don’t know why they kept getting the candle scent question, and I’m sorry.

The interview below has been edited for clarity and length. The translation was provided by Ashley Kang.

What’s your favorite season?

Kuro: Spring and Autumn.

Imagine you just got your milk out of the refrigerator to pour it into cereal, coffee, whatever you like. Do you shake your milk before you pour it?

Kuro: Not really?

Who is your favorite person to duo with?

Kuro: In all the five years?

The Rift Herald: Yes!

Kuro: Smeb.

What is one food you would never eat?

Kuro: I don’t like any seafood because of the smell.

Is there is any player from another region you would like to befriend? (From Gen.G’s CoreJJ.)

Kuro: Uzi because he’s cute.

What is the skin you hate the absolute most?

Kuro: I don’t like any of the recolored skins, like Tristana’s.

Cats or dogs?

Kuro: Both!

If you you were an animal, which would you be?

Kuro: I’d like to be a puppy, so I can have an easy life.

If you could turn into another pro, who would you pick? (From kt’s Deft.)

Kuro: For mid lane, definitely Faker.

What do you want to do when you win Worlds? Do you want to keep playing or quit? (From Flash Wolves’ SwordArt.)

Kuro: If I win this Worlds, I do want to keep playing.

Coke or Pepsi?

Kuro: Coke.

Which country would you want to go to, if you were to go overseas? (From EDG’s Scout.)

Kuro: I’ve been to America for Worlds before, but I’d like to go again for vacation, since there seems to be a lot of places to visit there.

The final task: Contribute a question to ask in future Lightning Rounds.

Kuro: If you retire, what would you like to do afterwards?

The Rift Herald: And what’s your answer to this question?

Kuro: I want to stay in the game industry as a head coach.
