Jack Frost has visited the Summoner’s Rift for the first time since 2011 to bring us a beautiful winter wonderland, just in time for the Snowdown Showdown.
Riot posted a teaser for the event on the League of Legends Instagram account, though it should be noted that this is a work in progress.
Snow hasn’t appeared on the Rift in a long time, but in 2015 we did get a Santa hat and earmuffs on Baron Nashor.

The river will also be completely frozen over!

Similar to the Harrowing, Snowdown is the special winter festivity tied to the winter holidays! Not only do we get special skins released, like Re-Gifted Amumu, Slaybelle Katarina and Festive Maokai, but sometimes we get special skins on the map.
With Snowdown, we can also expect special icons, mystery gift deals and more in-game goodies! Viva la winter!
