Patch 8.17 is here and there ... aren’t too many changes in this one, outside of the Nunu & Willump rework. Even still, let’s jump in.
Yes, Nunu & Willump are here! The adorable duo will be causing ruckus in your games soon enough. Their new kit keeps some old favorites like Consume and Absolute Zero, while introducing some neat new mechanics, like rolling a giant snowball into your enemies. All of their skins have also gotten a makeover, with Grungy Nunu becoming a completely different skin concept.
Five new skins are also releasing this patch. We’re getting three High Noon skins for Urgot, Thresh and Lucian, with Lucian’s being Legendary. We’re also getting two new Immortal Journey skins for Irelia and Talon, if that’s more of your cup of tea.
There’s also a speckle of actual buffs to champions as well as changes to Stormrazor and Duskblade of Draktharr, but nothing too huge.

Summoner Spells
Changed a service related to summoner spell configuration. If you haven’t played a particular queue in a couple of months, your summoner spells in that queue may reset to Heal/Ghost. Just a heads up!
Bugfixes
- Fixed a bug where Phantom Dancer’s Spectral Waltz passive would sometimes not trigger
- Fixed a bug where Akali’s R - Perfect Execution dealt damage to all opponents based on the health of the last enemy struck, rather than calculating damage individually for each
- Maokai R - Nature’s Grasp’s sfx now correctly line up with the ability’s duration.
- Fixed a bug where ranged attacks and targeted projectiles would have their VFX appear from the champion’s last seen location, if they were not currently in vision
- Deep Sea Nami no longer leaves her spine behind while moving during her recall animation.
