After just two weeks of NA LCS play, one of North America’s newest teams, the Golden Guardians have fired their head coach Choi “Locodoco” Yoonsup, the team announced in a tweet on Friday afternoon.
The Golden Guardians have relieved Yoonsup Choi of his head coaching duties. Tyler Perron has been named interim head coach prior to the team’s next games this weekend.

While no specific reason is given in the tweet, the Golden Guardians have been off to a rocky start in the LCS, losing all four of their opening games without ever looking particularly competitive. While these results certainly played a part, it is unclear if they are the sole reason for Choi’s dismissal.
One of the team’s assistant coaches, Tyler Perron, will be stepping in to coach the team for week three, although it seems like a more permanent replacement will be hired following this week’s games.
This isn’t the first time Choi has been fired from a coaching position in North American, as he was previously with both the Team SoloMid and Team Liquid organizations before being let go.
