As a part of the ongoing moves of the NA LCS off-season, mid laner Eugene “Pobelter” Park has signed with FlyQuest, the team announced in a video on Tuesday afternoon.
This move to a new team from Pobelter comes as no surprise after it was announced that Team Liquid had signed former Cloud9 mid laner Jensen to replace him on the team’s starting line-up. During his time with Team Liquid, Pobelter proved to be one of North America’s most consistent mid laners and helped the team win back to back NA LCS titles, the first in the organization’s history.
Throughout his almost five years in the NA LCS, Pobelter has played on five different teams, with FlyQuest being the sixth. He won two NA LCS title with Team Liquid and one Counter Logic Gaming and helped take Immortals to a second place finish and back-to-back third place finishes.
Since joining the NA LCS in 2017, FlyQuest has never really managed to get off the ground as an organization. Their first split was also their most successful, finishing at just fourth place during the NA LCS 2017 Spring Playoffs. In 2018, the team’s first year as a franchised organization, it finished eighth in the spring split and was knocked out of the quarterfinals 3-0 against 100 Thieves in the Summer Playoffs. However, the team is looking to start a new chapter in its NA LCS story with the addition of a consistent player like Pobelter.
