The NA LCS Summer Split semifinals will come to a close on Sunday as Team SoloMid takes on number five seed, Team Dignitas.
Team Dignitas enter the series with a near impossible task, become the first team in North American LCS history to prevent TSM from making the finals. While this isn’t exactly the strongest TSM has ever looked, they are an organization that has always been known to perform better in the playoffs.
In terms of the way the two teams match up, it’s hard to think of a team better suited to deal with the particular strengths of Team SoloMid. Dignitas have NA’s strongest top laner, in Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho, and one of the most reliable AD Carries in Johnny “Altec” Ru, with a jungler that specializes in focusing midlaners.
During the Summer Split, Dignitas took down TSM in both of their two meetings with a careful combination of shutdown play and steady focus on objectives. But TSM aren’t likely to forget the lessons of those two losses and should come into this series with a gameplan that emphasizes the strength of their bottom lane and puts star mid laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg in a utility focused style, that can add to their team compositions without much gold.
The series will be a best-of-five and will be broadcast at 3 p.m. ET and will be watchable on Twitch, as well as Youtube.
