The NA LCS Summer Split semifinals kick off on Saturday with a match up between number two seed Immortals, and number three seed, Counter Logic Gaming.
CLG will most certainly enter the series as underdogs, but we have seen them perform well in that role in the past. With Choi “Huhi” Jaehyun playing better than he ever has and the meta shifting into AD Carry Trevor “Stixxay” Hayes wheelhouse, Counter Logic Gaming could prove to be in just the right place to pull off the upset against Immortals.
But it won’t be easy, this Immortals team is one of the most consistent we have seen over the last several years in the NA LCS. The addition of jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero, formerly of CLG himself, took Immortals from an okay team, at best, to a title contender, thanks to his impeccable timing in team fights and adaptability in the early and midgame. Now, going up against rookie CLG jungler, Omar “Omargod” Amin, Puchero is in the perfect place to show just how good he is and how much he can take over the game.
The series will be a best-of-five and will be broadcast at 3 p.m. ET and will be watchable on Twitch, as well as Youtube.
