Most years when we head into the LCK playoffs, there is a clear favorite to win the tournament. And while that’s no less true this year, it’s a little strange for that to be a team no one expected to be quite this good when the season started. Before a single playoff game is played, Longzhu Gaming are the number one seed and favorite to win the 2017 LCK Summer Split.
But, just like every year in Korea, the competition for any team that wants to win is going to be fierce, particularly with back to back World Champions SK Telecom T1 sitting in fourth place, meaning that if any team wants to advance past their first game they’ll have to beat SKT to do it.
And with world class teams like Samsung Galaxy and kt Rolster sitting at second and third place, this is the most consistent and talent filled LCK playoffs ever, with great match ups in every round no matter who wins.
This post will be updated with results as the tournament progresses.
