NA LCS 2017 Summer Promotion tournament: schedule, stream and results

LCK legends and NA LCS veterans all compete for a place in the NA LCS in what could be the last Promotion Tournament.

Riot Games

It’s once again time for the North American LCS Promotion series, and while the stakes might be a little different this year, the teams and players involved will still have plenty of reason to compete.

Coming in from the North American LCS Summer Split will be the ninth place Team Liquid and tenth place Phoenix1. This is the second split in a row that Liquid have faced down the Promotion Tournament, though last split they also had star Team Solomid AD Carry Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng on the roster as well. For Phoenix1, this is a far cry from their third place finish last split, and an unexpected outcome despite the roster turmoil the team has suffered over the course of the split.

The first and second place teams in the Challenger Series will be Gold Coin United and eUnited respectively. Both rosters offer strong combinations of returning LCS veterans and talent from the LCK including Gold Coin’s legendary support Hong “Madlife” Min-gi and eUnited’s world champion jungler Choi “DanDy” In-kyu.

The tournament will be played over the course of several best of five series. Day two will be the first day where the fate of teams will be decided as victor of the winners match will move back into the LCS and the unfortunate team to lose in the losers bracket match will be eliminated from the Promotion Tournament.
