For the first time in NA LCS history, the same 10 teams will return from the previous split. It’s never been a more crucial time, either: with this week’s franchising announcement, the stakes are high and teams are looking to make good impressions.
It all starts Friday night, as runners-up Cloud9 take on a revamped CLG, now with Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett in the jungle. Hartnett joins a veteran team with a lot of experience together, but there may be some growing pains at the start of the split for CLG.
After that series, we’ll see Immortals take on Phoenix1. Without Dardoch, Immortals will be breaking in former CLG jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero. IMT will be hoping Puchero’s more supportive style meshes with IMT’s capable side laners.
The big marquee matchup this week comes on Saturday, with a finals rematch of TSM vs. Cloud9. TSM has added Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng back to the equation, and seem strong favorites to once again bring home an NA LCS title.
