WildTurtle leaves TSM for FlyQuest

Team SoloMid announced the departure of AD Carry Jason “WildTurtle” in a statement released by the team on Thursday. WildTurtle will be joining FlyQuest for the 2017 NA LCS Summer Split.

According to the statement, the original plan was to have WildTurtle share the AD Carry position with Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng; however, WildTurtle expressed an interest to remain in a starting role and made the decision to leave Team SoloMid. The announcement mentions that both Wildturtle and TSM remain on excellent terms.

WildTurtle originally joined Team SoloMid for the Spring Split of 2013 and played with them until the conclusion of the 2015 season, when he left to join Immortals and was replaced by Doublelift. Following his year with Immortals, WildTurtle rejoined TSM, where he played during the 2017 Spring Split and at the 2017 Mid-Season Invitational, where the team failed to advance from the Group Stage.

FlyQuest finished fourth in the NA LCS 2017 Spring Split — their first in the league. WildTurtle will be replacing Johnny “Altec” Ru the previous AD Carry on FlyQuest. WildTurtle has played with three of the members — An “Balls”, Hai Lam and Daerek “LemonNation” Hart — on Orbit Gaming in 2012 prior to his first split with Team SoloMid. Wildturtle is the all-time NA LCS kills leader — one spot above Doublelift.
