League of Legends Patch 7.22 change list

This is a big one.

Riot Games

This is it, guys. The biggest patch of the year, and maybe one of the biggest patches League has ever seen. These notes are so long that my browser is lagging (and my PC isn’t a toaster).

There are so many changes to dive into here, like the uncapped leveling system that rewards you after every level, instead of after every match. Or maybe we should talk about the fact that runes got merged with masteries and they’re all free? Or maybe the fact that IP literally just doesn’t exist anymore and it was replaced with Blue Essence? Oh, man.

Some champions got big ratio changes to skills, but every champion this patch got changes to their base stats to make up for the lack of runes.

Make sure to read up on the changes and be ready. (Also, no, this isn’t the patch with Zoe.)

Runes Reforged

Resolve

LIVE FOREVER! Resolve is about durability and crowd control.

Path Bonus

RESOLVE + ANY PATH :: +130 Health

Keystones

You may choose one of the following:

Grasp of the Undying

NOODLE SLURP :: Every 4 seconds in combat, your next basic attack on a champion will: Deal bonus magic damage equal to 4% of your max health, heal you for 2% of your max health, and permanently increase your health by 5.

NO CHOPSTICKS :: Ranged champions’ damage and healing are halved and they gain 2 permanent health instead

Aftershock

CALL ME QUAKE :: After immobilizing an enemy champion, increase your Armor and Magic Resist by 20 + 30% for 2.5 seconds, then explode, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies

DAMAGE :: 40 - 140 (+3.5% of your maximum health)

COOLDOWN :: 20 seconds

Guardian

DEFINITELY NOT BRAUM :: Guard allies within 175 units of you and allies you target with spells for 2.5 seconds. While Guarding, if you or the ally take damage, both of you gain a shield and activate haste for 1.5 seconds.

COOLDOWN :: 45 seconds

SHIELD :: 60 - 150 +(0.20 AP) + (+10% bonus health)

HASTE :: +20% Movement Speed

Strength

You may choose one of the following:

Unflinching

2FAST2TENACIOUS :: After casting a Summoner Spell, gain 15% Tenacity and Slow Resistance for 10 seconds. Additionally, gain 10% Tenacity and Slow Resistance for each Summoner Spell on cooldown.

Demolish

FALCON PUNCH :: Charge up a powerful attack against a tower over 4 seconds while within 600 range of it. The charged attack deals 125 (+30% of your max health) bonus physical damage.

COOLDOWN :: 45 seconds

Font of Life

TAG :: Impairing the movement of an enemy champion marks them for 4 seconds

SAVED :: Ally champions who attack marked enemies heal for 5 + 1.0% of your max health over 2 seconds

Resistance

You may choose one of the following:

Iron Skin

IT'S FREE :: Gain +5 Armor

LIQUID COURAGE :: Heal effects from consumables, heals for 20+ health, and shields increase your Armor by 5% for 3 seconds

Mirror Shell

IT'S FREE :: Gain +5 Magic Resist.

LIQUID COURAGE :: Heal effects from consumables, heals for 20+ health, and shields increase your Magic Resist by 5% for 3 seconds

Conditioning

TRAINING PAYS OFF :: After 10 minutes, gain +8 Armor and +8 Magic Resist and increase your Armor and Magic Resist by 5%

Vitality

You may choose one of the following:

Overgrowth

TAKE MY ENERGY :: Permanently gain 0.2% maximum health for every 8 monsters or enemy minions that die near you

Revitalize

ENERGY DRINK :: Heals and shields are 5% stronger and increased by an additional 10% on targets below 40% health

Second Wind

RESPIRATE HIM, DOC :: After taking damage from an enemy champion, heal for 4% of your missing health +6 over 10 seconds.

Domination

HUNT AND ELIMINATE YOUR PREY! Domination is about burst damage and target access.

Path Bonus

DOMINATION + ANY PATH :: +11 Attack Damage or +18 Ability Power, adaptive

Keystones

You may choose one of the following:

Electrocute

FOUR! :: Hitting a champion with 3 separate attacks or abilities within 3 seconds deals bonus adaptive damage

DAMAGE :: 50 - 220 based on level (+0.50 bonus AD, +0.3 AP) damage

Predator

THE HUNT IS ON :: Enchants your boots with the active effect “Predator.” Predator to channel for 1.5 seconds out of combat to gain 45% movement speed for 15 seconds. Damaging attacks or abilities end this effect, dealing 60 - 140 (+0.4 bonus AD)(+0.25 AP) bonus adaptive damage.

COOLDOWN :: 180 seconds to 120 seconds based on level. Starts the game on cooldown and goes on cooldown if interrupted while channeling.

Dark Harvest

2SPOOPY :: Champions, large minions, and large monsters drop soul essence on death. Collect souls to become Soul Charged. Your next attack on a champion or structure consumes Soul Charged to deal bonus adaptive damage.

DEFINITELY NOT THRESH :: Soul Charged lasts 20 seconds, increased to 300 seconds after collecting 150 soul essence

HOARDER :: Bonus damage: 40 - 80 (+0.25 bonus AD) (+0.2 AP) + soul essence collected

21 GRAMS? :: Champions - 6 soul essence // Monsters - 2 soul essence // Minions - 4 soul essence

Malice

You may choose one of the following:

Cheap Shot

BULLY :: Damaging champions with impaired movement or actions deals 12 - 30 bonus true damage (based on level)

COOLDOWN :: 4 seconds - activates on damage occurring after the impairment

Taste of Blood

YUM! :: Heal when you damage an enemy champion

TRANSFUSION :: Healing: 18 - 35 (+0.20 bonus AD, +0.1 AP) health based on level

Sudden Impact

I WAS HIDING! :: After exiting stealth or using a dash, leap, blink, or teleport, dealing any damage to a champion grants you 10 Lethality and 8 Magic Penetration for 5 seconds

COOLDOWN :: 4 seconds

Tracking

You may choose one of the following:

Zombie Ward

THAT'S KINDA CUTE :: After killing a ward, a friendly Zombie Ward is raised in its place. Additionally, when your wards expire, they reanimate as Zombie Wards.

UNDEAD FRIEND :: Zombie Wards are visible, last for 180 seconds, and don't count towards your ward limit

Ghost Poro

FLUFFY BOI :: Enter a brush to summon a poro after a brief channel. The poro will stay behind to give you vision until you summon a new one.

THAT'S NOT VERY NICE :: If an enemy enters brush with a poro in it, they scare it away, putting Ghost Poro on a 3 seconds cooldown

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT :: Poro channel is interrupted if you enter combat with a champion

Eyeball Collection

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE :: Collect eyeballs for champion and ward takedowns. Gain an adaptive bonus of 0.6 Attack Damage or 1 Ability Power per eyeball collected.

Hunter

You may choose one of the following:

Ravenous Hunter

SADIST :: Heal for a percentage of the damage dealt by your abilities

MORE BLOOD :: Heals for 2.5% + 2.5% per Bounty Hunter stack

KILL 'EM ALL :: Earn a Bounty Hunter stack the first time you get a takedown on each enemy champion

MANO-A-MANO :: Healing reduced to one third for Area of Effect abilities

Ingenious Hunter

ALWAYS READY :: Gain 10% active item CDR plus an additional 6% per Bounty Hunter stack (includes Trinkets)

Relentless Hunter

Precision

BECOME A LEGEND! Precision is about improved basic attacks and sustained damage.

Path Bonus

Precision + any path :: +18% Attack Speed

GROOVY :: Hitting an enemy champion with 3 consecutive basic attacks deals 30 - 120 bonus adaptive damage (based on level) and makes them vulnerable, increasing the damage they take by 12% from all sources for 6 seconds

Lethal Tempo

CRUISING SPEED :: 1.5 seconds after damaging a champion gain 30 - 80% Attack Speed (based on level) for 3 seconds. Attacking a champion extends the effect to 6 seconds.

COOLDOWN :: 10 seconds

OVER 9000!!! :: Lethal Tempo allows you to temporarily exceed the attack speed limit

Fleet Footwork

LIKE THE BUNNY :: Attacking and moving builds Energy stacks. At 100 stacks, your next attack is Energized.

FULL BATTERY :: Energized attacks heal you for 5 - 50 (+0.10 Bonus AD, +0.20 AP) and grant +30% Movement Speed for 1 seconds

SMOL GUYS :: Healing is 60% as effective when used on a minion

Heroism

You may choose one of the following:

Overheal

WASTE NOT :: Excess healing on you becomes a shield, for up to 10% of your total health + 10

I HEARD YOU LIKE HEALS :: Shield is built up from 30% of excess self-healing, or 300% of excess healing from allies

Triumph

GET EM, TIGER :: Takedowns restore 15% of your missing health and grant an additional 25 gold

Presence of Mind

UNLIMITED POWAH :: For 5 seconds after gaining a level or takedown any mana you spend is fully restored

Legend

You may choose one of the following:

Legend: Alacrity

GOTTA GO FAST :: Gain 3% attack speed plus an additional 1.5% for every Legend stack (max 10 stacks)

FAME :: Earn progress toward Legend stacks for every champion takedown, epic monster takedown, large monster kill, and minion kill

Legend: Tenacity

TRY AND STOP ME :: Gain 5% tenacity plus an additional 1.5% for every Legend stack (max 10 stacks)

BIGGER DOESN'T MEAN BETTER :: Deal 4% more damage to champions with 150 more max health than you, increasing to 10% at 2000 more max health

Last Stand

I WILL SURVIVE :: Deal 5%-12% increased damage to champions while you are below 60% health. Max damage gained at 30% health

Sorcery

UNLEASH DESTRUCTION! Sorcery is about empowered abilities and resource manipulation.

Path Bonus

Sorcery + any path :: Sorcery + Precision +15 attack damage or +25 ability power, adaptive

Keystone

You may choose one of the following:

Summon Aery

FAIRY POWER :: Your attacks and abilities send Aery to a target, damaging enemies or shielding allies

DAMAGE :: 20 - 60 based on level (+0.10 AP and +0.15 bonus AD)

SHIELD :: Shield: 30 - 80 based on level (+0.25 AP and +0.40 bonus AD)

COME BACK :: Aery cannot be sent out again until she returns to you

Arcane Comet

ADAPTIVE DAMAGE :: 30 - 100 (based on level) (+0.20 AP and +0.35 bonus AD)

COOLDOWN :: 20 - 8 seconds (based on level)

Phase Rush

ZOOM ZOOM :: Hitting an enemy champion with 3 attacks or separate abilities within 3 seconds grants 15 - 40% Movement Speed based on level

DURATION :: 3 seconds

COOLDOWN :: 15 seconds

NO REALLY, ZOOM ZOOM :: Additionally, melee champions gain 75% Slow Resistance for the duration

Artifact

You may choose one of the following:

Nullifying Orb

CAN'T BURST THIS :: When you take magic damage that would reduce your Health below 30%, gain a shield that absorbs 40 - 120 magic damage based on level (+0.10 AP and +0.15 bonus AD) for 4 seconds

COOLDOWN :: 60 seconds

Manaflow Band

THE LAST MANABENDER :: Every 60 seconds, your next ability used has its mana or energy cost refunded and restores 8% of your missing mana or energy

The Ultimate Hat

10 POINTS TO DEMACIA :: Your ultimate's cooldown is reduced by 5%. Each time you cast your ultimate, its cooldown is further reduced by 2%. Stacks up to 5 times.

Excellence

You may choose one of the following:

Transcendence

PERFECT 10 :: Gain 10% CDR when you reach level 10

ALL THE COOLDOWNS :: Each percent of CDR exceeding the CDR limit is converted to an adaptive bonus of 1.2 Attack Damage or 2 Ability Power

UR A WIZARD :: Summoner Spell cooldowns are reduced by 25%

CAN'T BUY TALENT :: Buying Smite won't grant access to Smite items (you'll have to start with Smite)

SUMMONER FRAUD :: You cannot have two of the same Summoner Spell

Glacial Augment

SLOW-MO :: Basic attacking a champion slows them for 2 seconds. The slow increases in strength over its duration.

CHILL :: Ranged attacks slow by up to 20% - 40%

WITH MY FREEZE RAY :: Slowing a champion with active items shoots a freeze ray through them, freezing the nearby ground for 5 seconds and slowing all units inside by 50%

Kleptomancy

STICKY FINGERS :: After using an ability, your next attack on a champion grants bonus gold. There's a chance you'll also gain a consumable.

Contraption

You may choose one of the following:

Hextech Flashtraption

*POOF* :: While Flash is on cooldown it is replaced by Hexflash

HEXFLASH :: Channel for 2 seconds to blink to a new location

COOLDOWN :: 20 seconds. Goes on a 10 second cooldown when you enter champion combat.

Biscuit Delivery

FRESH FROM THE OVEN :: Gain a Total Biscuit of Everlasting Will every 3 minutes, until 12 minutes

ARE YOU HUNGRY? :: Biscuits restore 15% of your missing health and mana. Consuming any Biscuit increases your mana cap by 40 mana permanently.

MANALESS :: Champions without mana restore 20% missing health instead

Perfect Timing

TICK TOCK :: Start the game with a Commencing Stopwatch that transforms into a Stopwatch after 6 minutes. Stopwatch has a one time use Stasis effect.

WIBBLY WOBBLY TIMEY WIMEY :: Reduces the cooldown of Zhonya's Hourglass, Guardian Angel, and Gargoyle Stoneplate by 15%

Magical Footwear

BUT ONLY SLIGHTLY :: You get free Slightly Magical Boots at 10 minutes, but you cannot buy boots before then. For each takedown, you acquire the boots 30 seconds sooner.

DISCOUNT :: Slightly Magical Boots give you an additional +10 Movement Speed and upgrade for 50 gold less

Future's Market

STUDENT LOANS :: You can enter debt to buy items. The amount you can borrow increases over time.

LENDING FEE :: 50 gold

Minion Dematerializer

THEY HAVE FAMILIES :: Start the game with 6 Minion Dematerializers that kill and absorb lane minions instantly. Minion Dematerializers are on cooldown for the first 155 seconds of the game.

YOU SAVAGE :: Absorbing a minion increases your damage by +4% against that type of minion permanently plus an extra 1% for each additional minion of that type absorbed

The level 30 level cap has been removed, and the new cap is… infinity!

Instead of getting IP after every game, you'll receive a capsule each time you level up. Capsules almost always contain champion shards. Exceptions to this will be on certain milestone levels such as 50, 75, 100, etc, where you can get extra goodies. When these levels are reached, you'll get exclusive rewards to show off your status in-game. These rewards include a special high-level ward skin, milestone emotes which you can upgrade using blue essence, and at very high milestone levels, maybe even a gemstone.

IP turns into Blue Essence

We're connecting the leveling and loot systems by merging IP and blue essence. The newer, bluer essence will work in all the places IP and BE worked before, including loot and the champion store. Everything in the store will cost the same as it did in the old, IP-based system—for example, a newer champ like Kayn will be 6300 BE.

Level 1 through 30

We’re shortening the time it takes to get to level 30.

Changes to boosts

IP boosts are being removed from the store. XP boosts will still be available. Any active IP boosts will get automatically converted to XP boosts.

With rewards being tied to leveling up, XP boosts helps increasing the speed you unlock content (you'll level faster, thus earn capsules faster). To reflect this, we’ll be increasing the price of XP boosts to be closer to the value of an IP boosts.

Ascension Changelist

You can now use Enhanced Recall from anywhere on the map while in the play space

NO HEALS :: Fountain healing is still disabled.

I JUST DIED FOR THAT :: This change enables you to shop and buy items during the game, without having to die to do it.

Runes Reforged is now available on Ascension

You can customize and select your runes, however we have swapped out some of the runes that are not compatible with Ascension by default; if you have these particular runes in your page, they will be automatically swapped for you once in game

Waterwalking

Waterwalking gives you movement speed while walking in the River, which wasn’t useful in the desert. Waterwalking will become Scorch, which allows your next ability to set the champion on fire, dealing damage.

Zombie Ward

Zombie Ward spawns a new, allied ward wherever you kill an enemy ward (or a new allied ward when your allied wards expire); however, there are no wards in Ascension… so, we’re testing out Ghost Poro. Ghost Poro allows you to summon a poro after entering a brush. The poro will stay behind and give you vision until you summon a new one, or until an enemy scares it away.

If Ghost Poro doesn’t happen, we’ll be swapping Zombie Ward out for something more useful regardless.

Minion Dematerializer

Minion Dematerializer lets you kill and absorb lane minions… if you had any! So you'll be getting Future’s Market instead. Future's Market lets you enter debt to the shopkeeper to buy items. Careful with those interest rates!

Kleptomancy

Kleptomancy lets you auto attack champions and get gold and potentially consumables. However, since we balance gold and disable consumables in Ascension, we’ve disabled this rune as well. You'll be getting Glacial Augment, which gives your auto attacks a slow effect on champions. If you slow them with an active item, it’ll freeze the ground around them for five seconds.

Demolish

Demolish allows you to make powerful attacks against turrets. The only turret that exists in Ascension is Azir’s, when Xerath is de-spawned, so we’ve disabled this rune.The one you'll be getting instead is Font of Life, which allows you to mark an enemy when you have impaired their movement. Allied champions will heal when they attack marked enemies.

Overgrowth

Overgrowth increases your maximum HP for monsters and minions dying near you, but there are no monsters or minions in Ascension. There's always Second Wind though, which allows you to heal for some amount of your missing HP after being hit by an enemy champion.

Skins Bugfixes

  • Snow Bunny Nidalee's legacy border has been restored
  • River Spirit Nami's Tidecaller's Blessing (E) once again has on-hit SFX
  • Shields now follow Dark Star Varus' model during his recall animation
  • Tundra/Grey/Hyena/Marauder Warwick no longer has classic green idle VFX on their backs
  • Arcade Miss Fortune Chromas no longer have parent skin textures on her guns during death animation
  • Katarina and all of her skins’ SFX have been restored and are no longer quiet
  • Death Sworn Katarina's smoke VFX on her daggers during her Recall (B) no longer appear below the ground
  • Death Sworn Viktor no longer uses classic SFX during his joke animation
  • Scorched Earth Renekton no longer has missing ember VFX when using Cull of the Meek (E) with 50+ fury
  • Surprise Party Amumu's Curse of the Sad Mummy (R) can no longer be heard in Fog of War
  • Death Sworn Viktor's character texture now scales with character quality

Emotes in Loot

Emotes are now available to drop in Hextech crafting.
