AD Carry Li “Vasilii” Wei Jun has been officially released from the LPL team Newbee following his on-stream behavior. A livestream captured what appeared to be a violent outburst from Li, and what sounds like Li destroying items and striking his girlfriend. The video includes Li screaming and what sounds like his girlfriend crying after the incident. Police were reportedly called.
We are not including the video of the stream, but it’s not hard to find.
Li has been playing League of Legends professionally since 2012. He briefly played in North America on LMQ before the team was rebranded to Team Impulse.
Previously, Li has rage quit from games and even destroyed live game sets. He has broken computer monitors and set-ups at gaming houses as well.
If you or somebody you care about has experienced domestic violence, you are not alone. Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women. One in four women will be physically abused by their partner in their lifetime. You can reach out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline to get help or more information.
Update: Riot Games has officially suspended Li from all Riot-sanctioned competitive play. The details of his suspension will be revealed once a full investigation is done.
