Exileh’s incredible Ryze escape has to be seen to be believed

Wow!

Ever since Ryze’s most recent rework was announced, it was easy to see the potential for game-changing plays with his ultimate, especially at the pro level. Abilities that allow you to cover ground quickly are coveted in League, but an area-of-effect teleport? It almost seemed too good to be true.

If you’re not familiar, here’s how Ryze’s new ultimate works. Ryze channels for 2 seconds, opening a circular portal around him. After the two seconds are over, Ryze and all allies within that circular portal are teleported to a nearby targeted location.

Like most new abilities, it’s taken a while for folks to get the hang of it — it’s more reliable as an escape tool than an engage tool, even though it’s pretty tempting to try and flank the enemy backline with your whole team.

There have been no Ryze adjustment problems for Unicorns of Love mid laner Fabian "Exileh" Schubert, though. He took to the champion quickly and played it often in Monday’s EU Gauntlet Finals against Splyce.

In Game 1, every Ryze players’ dreams came true with this unbelievable escape.

Exileh sets up the portal as he runs into a bush, exits the bush at the last second to take the portal, and instantly flashes away once he successfully teleports. Holy crap.
