TSM’s Parth, Splyce’s YamatoCannon named LCS Coaches of the Split

As expected.

Riot Games

The next stage of LCS awards have been announced. Following the release of the All-LCS teams last week, the winners of the Coach of the Split awards in EU and NA were announced Thursday.

In North America, the winner is Team SoloMid head coach Parth Naidu. TSM went 17-1 in the regular season, locking up the No. 1 seed in the playoffs and generally looking like the most dominant team in the field.

That didn’t stop players from getting off some jokes.

Second place in the North American voting was new Cloud9 head coach Han-gyu “Reapered” Bok, while third was Counter Logic Gaming head coach Tony “Zikz” Gray.

In Europe, the winner was Jakob “YamatoCannon” Mebdi, of Splyce. A former pro player, YamatoCannon has been the head coach of MeetYourMakers, Glacial Phoenix, Team ROCCAT and now, Splyce. After an eighth-place finish in the spring, Splyce grew tremendously in the offseason, improving to the point that they finished in second in the summer. It’s by far Yamato’s best split yet as a head coach, and the award is well-deserved.

Second place in the European voting was G2 Esports head coach Joey “Youngbuck” Steltenpool, and third was H2K head coach Neil “PR0LLY” Hammad.

Both TSM (vs. CLG) and Splyce (vs. H2K) will play semifinal series this weekend. There’s a lot of excellent League going on, so stay tuned.
