Season 6 has been a bit of a bumpy road for League of Legends’ ranked queue. The introduction of dynamic queue brought some very good things, but the elimination of solo queue has brought many complaints from players. While the new system allows for better role selection and more opportunities to play with friends, many players have said they feel it is a less accurate representation of skill.
Riot lead designer Ghostcrawler received a question on his ASKfm about ranked.
Still waiting for you to fix ranked...this whole season has just been a meaningless write off for me
His answer revealed potential changes on the way for the ranked queue system.
We're not happy with the way it has played out for sure. We have some additional changes coming for this season, and rest assured next season will have a pretty different model altogether.
A Reddit user claims to have received a survey from Riot that suggests a new system that would include both dynamic queue and solo queue, with the ability to switch back and forth between the ladders. Other users in the thread also said they got the survey, but it’s worth noting Riot has not confirmed any of this.
We’ll keep you posted as more news breaks regarding League’s ranked system.
