Former Apex starting jungler Seo “Eve” Jun-cheol has been banned for 10 months from competitive play after being caught scripting on the Korean server on his Riot-provided practice account, Riot announced in a competitive ruling Monday. Eve’s suspension had been known since the team announced it in May, but the official ruling had not yet come down.
Scripting refers to using computer services that automate play for you, allowing players to dodge enemy attacks in ways that would usually not be possible and generally creating the perfect player.
The punishment for scripting ranges from 10-20 months, but Eve received the minimum possible suspension due to his cooperation in the case and the minimal amount of time he spent scripting.
Previously with Samsung Galaxy in Korea, Eve joined Apex prior to the Spring Split and split time with Lee “Shrimp” Byeong-hoon as the team’s starting jungler in the North American Challenger Series. Shrimp has taken over as the team's starting jungler in the NA LCS this split.
