There will be two new teams in the Summer LCK, as MVP joined ESC Ever as Korean Challenger teams defeating their LCK counterparts in the Promotion Series. MVP beat Kongdoo Monster 3-1 in a best-of-five series Friday.
MVP, which went 10-4-0 in the Challenger season, looking clearly like the best team in Korea's second-tier league. But MVP was upset by ESC Ever in the finals. That was the third competition won by ESC Ever this season, following surprise victories in the KeSPA cup and at IEM Cologne. Now both teams will move on to the LCK.

A former Starcraft 2 team, MVP returned to the League of Legends scene in November after a hiatus. MVP Ozone, one of three previous MVP League teams won Champions Spring 2013 before being purchased by Samsung.
