SuperMassive eSports vs. Saigon Jokers: IWCI semifinals results

We now know who will face Hard Random in the IWCI finals. Spoilers within!

LoLesports

After four days of round robin action and one semifinal completed, the 2016 League of Legends International Wild Card Invitational heads to its final semifinal series Thursday, as Turkey's SuperMassive eSports takes on Vietnam's Saigon Jokers. The winner will face Russia's Hard Random for a bid to the Mid-Season Invitational. Hard Random swept Brazil's INTZ e-Sports in Wednesday's semifinal.

The series will be a best-of-five, and starts at 1 p.m. ET. You can watch live on Riot Oceania's Twitch.

Hard Random, INTZ and SuperMassive all finished the round robin with a 5-2 record, forcing a pair of one-game tiebreakers. Hard Random beat INTZ in the first tiebreaker, and lost to SuperMassive in the second. SuperMassive lost to the Saigon Jokers in the teams' round robin match.

Both teams have played both of the popular team compositions at IWCI: the 1-3-1 featuring TP mid laners like Lissandra or Ryze or assassin mid laners like Zed or LeBlanc, as well as the 1-4 siege composition featuring mid laners like Varus and Azir. Other high-priority picks include Ekko, Maokai, Kindred, Nidalee and Gragas, but pay close attention to SuperMassive support Dumbledoge's champion pool: he pulled out the surprise support Elise a few times in the round robin.

This post will be updated once the games start with picks, bans and results, so spoilers below!

SuperMassive will move on to face Hard Random in the finals Friday after sweeping the Saigon Jokers. Both finalists swept their semifinal competition, and it sure looks like the two best teams from the IWCI field will be the ones squaring off for the MSI spot.
