Flash Wolves became the first team to qualify for MSI 2016 in Shanghai after sweeping ahq e-Sports Club in the LMS Spring Finals Sunday.
ahq had finished the LMS regular season in first place, sporting a 11-3-0 record. Flash Wolves finished in second place, at 9-2-3. But after sweeping Machi in the semifinal round, the Wolves were able to hand ahq their first three losses of the season, winning the LMS Spring Finals and advancing to MSI.
We'll learn two more MSI qualifiers Sunday, as G2 takes on Origen in the EU LCS Finals and Team SoloMid squares off against Counter Logic Gaming in the NA LCS Finals. MSI will run from May 4 to May 15 in Shanghai.
Flash Wolves was a surprise performer at 2015 Worlds, winning Group A and defeating the KOO Tigers in the group stages before losing in the quarterfinals to Origen, three games to one. The roster is a little bit different, as top laner Steak has since moved on to become an analyst, but Karsa, Maple, NL and SwordArt are still in the starting lineup.
Never forget...
