Chinese League of Legends team QG Reapers forfeited its best-of-five LPL semifinal series against Edward Gaming Sunday after a series of unfortunate events left the team without any mid laners.
Starter Doinb was benched earlier in the season. He claims it was because of a (now very public) feud with starting jungler Swift, but QG denies those claims, as described by The Score.
Earlier this week, Doinb released a string of Wechat messages on Weibo that accused Swift of refusing pick-and-ban recommendations from a member of the coaching staff. Doinb claimed that when he argued with Swift about the issue, Swift convinced the team to bench him.
Without Doinb available, QG had been going with Mortred and BoriSal in the mid lane. But Mortred injured his hand and BoriSal was unable to make it to the arena in time Sunday. Former Samsung mid laner dade was supposed to play, per The Score, but it appears he was not ruled eligible in time.
QG finished in first place in Group A in the regular season, with an 11-5 record.
Edward Gaming will move onto the LPL final April 23 against Royal Never Give Up, with the winner qualifying for the Mid-Season Invitational. Edward Gaming won last year's MSI, defeating SK Telecom T1 in the finals.
